Het werk s geinspireerd op de volgende passage uit: Yvonne Keuls “Madame K, Van Indisch kind tot Haagse dame”. pag 13.
Ze (de moeder van mw .Keuls) besloot eenvoudigweg mij nimmer bij die naam (Yvonne) te noemen. Binnen tien minuten doopte ze mij in Angin, wat in het Maleis “wind” betekent, en zij verklaarde wijs en poetisch: \’Want de wind neemt de verhalen mee. Kabar angin betekent: “gerucht”- het kan waar zijn, het kan niet waar zijn – of: “verhaal dat op de wind wordt gedragen”.\’
This poetic interpretation shows a strong connection between Yvonne\’s mission in life and what her mother predicted by looking at that little girl. She became someone who spread a lot of stories in the world, a writer.
The same connection I wanted to use also for the sculpture
The basic material books are folded in a flower shapes (very appropriate for a lady) from which letters are floating out in the sentence: de wind neemt de verhalen mee. and Angin
The letters are made of stoneware ceramic and glazed in green-turquoise and they are all bond with each other with a thread. You can read the sentence through the six lenses.
