LA GRANDE BELLEZZA toont de grote schoonheid van de Italiaanse invloeden in Nederland door middel van beeldende kunst, audiovisueel en fotografie. Deelnemende kunstenaars zijn Roberto Caradonna,Augusto Forti, Pierluigi Pompei, Claudio Varone, Sonia Cillari, Maurizio Montalti, Monica Ragazzini en Silvio Zangarini.
In de vitrines exposeren Daniela Malaica, Francesco Ragalmuto Garito, Dario Scapitta, en Michela Mazzeo hun sieraden en design.

Feestelijke opening door Francesco Azzarello, Italiaanse ambassadeur in Nederland. Met bijdragen van Thijs Reuten, lida dagelijks bestuur Stadsdeel Oost, Rita Venturelli, directeur Italiaans Cultureel Instituut, Massimo Benvegnù, filmcriticus en Carla Regina, mezzosopraan.
De expositie wordt afgesloten met een groot LA GRANDE BELLEZZA feest tijdens de Museumnacht op zaterdag 1 november 2014 vanaf 19.00 uur. Kaartverkoop via www.museumnachtamsterdam.nl.

This work is inspired from the common 19th centuries Dutch architecture. As an Italian walking through Holland’s cities I notice one very strong characteristic: Windows
are much bigger and often without curtains or shutters. Beside the fact that this is literally an opening into the Dutch culture, it offers as well a great beautiful spectacle especially in the dark.
Wandering around the city at night, peeking in the inhabited space, the house comes from far to life. The light shine through the window that comes loose from its surround and starts to flow in the darkness.
